Hispanic / Latino Community Organizations Unite to EncourageLatinos in the Greater Sacramento Region to Vote this November 8th
Sacramento, CA – Hispanic / Latino Community Leaders and Community Organizations throughout the Greater Sacramento Region who serve this often-ignored community are calling for all Latinos to let their voices be heard during the upcoming elections next Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
Only 27% of Latino registered voters turned out to vote during the primary elections that’s 12% below Sacramento’s County average for all registered voters. That’s why, many local Latino/Hispanic organizations representing various points of view in the community with a legacy of advocacy and representation for Latinos in the region are uniting to plead with all who identify as Latinos to cast their vote in person or by mail.
“We need to end the myth that Latinos/as are unaware or indifferent to the importance of our vote. It’s time that we utilize this critical tool to amplify our voice. Latinos/as are no longer a sleeping giant. Let’s get loud. Vote,” states Cathy Rodriguez Aguirre, President/CEO of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
As the nation’s largest minority group, the Latino community can play a key role in elections.
“We must vote for experienced leaders who can address issues like economic growth, job creation, education, voting rights, health care accessibility, language access, transparency, discrimination, and social justice,” states Marty Puentes, President of LULAC.
Our participation is necessary to safeguard the vulnerable portions of our society. But this can only happen if everyone turns out to vote this Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Regardless of party affiliation, the entire community must galvanize the electorate and vote.
“The power within the Latino community can be most effective at the ballot box. We must use our vote as our voice… without our participation in this election, our voice will not be heard,” states Alexis R. Arriaga, President of United Latinos Promoviendo Accion Civica.

12 Organizaciones Latinas del Area de Sacramento se unen para alentar a la comunidadLatina/Hispana de la Región a votar este 8 de noviembre
Sacramento, CA – Líderes comunitarios hispanos/latinos de 12 de las principales organizaciones comunitarias que sirven a esta comunidad a menudo ignorada del área de Sacramento están solicitando a todos los latinos que se unan a votar este próximo martes 8 de noviembre de 2022.
Solo el 27 % de los votantes latinos registrados acudieron a votar durante las elecciones primarias, lo que representa un 12 % por debajo del promedio del condado de Sacramento para todos los votantes registrados. Es por eso que 12 de las organizaciones latinas/hispanas locales que representan varios puntos de vista en la comunidad con un legado de defensa y representación de los latinos en la región se están uniendo para suplicar a todos los que se identifican como latinos que emitan su voto en persona o por correo.
“Necesitamos acabar con el mito de que los latinos/as desconocen o son indiferentes a la importancia de nuestro voto. Es hora de que utilicemos esta herramienta crítica para amplificar nuestra voz. Los latinos/as ya no somos un gigante dormido. Hagamos ruido. ¡Salgamos a Votar!”, afirma Cathy Rodríguez Aguirre, Presidenta/CEO de la Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Sacramento.
Como el grupo minoritario más grande del país, la comunidad latina puede desempeñar un papel clave en las elecciones.
“Debemos votar por líderes con experiencia que puedan abordar temas como el crecimiento económico, la creación de empleo, la educación, los derechos de voto, la accesibilidad a la atención médica, el acceso al idioma, la transparencia, la discriminación y la justicia social”, dice Marty Puentes, presidente de LULAC.
Nuestra participación es necesaria para salvaguardar las partes vulnerables de nuestra sociedad. Pero esto solo puede suceder si todos acuden a votar este martes 8 de noviembre de 2022. Independientemente de la afiliación partidaria, toda la comunidad debe impulsar al electorado y votar.
“El poder dentro de la comunidad latina puede ser más efectivo en las urnas. Debemos usar nuestro voto como nuestra voz… sin nuestra participación en esta elección, nuestra voz no será escuchada”, afirma Alexis R. Arriaga, presidente de Latinos Unidos Promoviendo Acción Cívica.
